What is that

What is that?

Actually, it’s a bat.

Granted, a very flat dehydrated bat, but still a bat.

Sadly, this bat must have been roosting at the top of our sun shade, underneath the protective cover, and when the wind got crazy we rolled our blinds up so they wouldn’t get damaged. We had no idea a bat was there until the next morning when I unrolled the blinds and he dropped out. With triple-digit temps, he never had a chance overnight. He was dead when I found him.

Now we roll the blinds down about six inches first, to make sure no critters are nesting at the top, and then we roll them up.

Poor little bat.
