Welcome to 5 Acre Arts
... an Artist Collective
Lynda Abare hails from the high desert -- north of Phoenix, Arizona. Her longtime dream of a simple desert house surrounded by wildlife and desert flora came true and provides ample inspiration and motivation for her newest venture, "5 Acre Arts... an Artist Collective".
We’re glad you came to visit and we hope you’ll discover some new favorite(s) -- check out our Mixed Media, PMC, Chainmaille, Handmade Books and Journals, Repujado (metal embossing), Painted Papers, and more -- just click HERE, or one of the photo inserts below, for electronic access to the artists and their creations at 5 Acre Arts.

The monsoon rains have finally arrived. Our days now are not only HOT but HUMID! Afternoons bring cloudy skies, gusty winds and occasionally... rain. Delicious rain. The landscape has been rinsed clean of its layers of dust and desert plants are green again, loving the moisture-laden air. Saguaros are filling their cactus bellies and swelling, pushing their “pleats” out to absorb as much of the life-giving rain as they can.
As local plants are nourished by rainfall, let us be reminded to fill our own “creative wells”. Today (August 3rd) is the first day of ART Unraveled 2010, an inspiration packed, week-long mixed media event sure to inspire your muse(s). Our own Bett York is headed to Phoenix and will be teaching two classes: A jewelry class, Rings Pendants Pins on Wednesday and a fantastic “Notan” class, Little Black (and White) Book next Monday evening. Maybe I’ll see you there?!
If you’re new to Phoenix and even if you’re not, It’s wise to remember anything left sitting outside is too hot to touch by mid-morning. Don’t leave anything you care about in your car for more than a few minutes and when I’m out and about, I keep a towel handy to cover my steering wheel while my car is parked.
